Weber State at Montana State: Revenging A Home Loss To A Bad Team

Weber State has had a great season so far. At 20-8 overall (14-1 Big Sky) and riding an 11 game winning streak, a date in the dance is looking more and more likely. Despite their success though, their last loss sticks out. It came at home against Montana State, a team that stands just 13-15 overall (6-9 Big Sky) and is just 5-11 on the road.

The Wildcats will get a chance to avenge that loss tonight when head out to Bozeman to face the Bobcats.

Oddsmakers obviously had the first game in mind when they set the spread for this game at just 3.5 points despite the fact that Weber State has covered their last 9 in a row including 4 times as a dog and 4 times on the road.

A Weber State victory vs. the moneyline is backed by a strong trend that has favorites revenging a same season loss to an opponent and coming off two straight 10+ point victories against conference rivals winning straight up at a 84.6% clip (126-23) since 1997.

Meanwhile a victory against the spread comes backed by the fact that road favorites that outscore their opponents by 4-8 points a game are 37-13 ATS (64%) following a game in which they scored 85 points or more and facing a average defensive team.

Meanwhile, almost every other major trend favors Weber State as well.

Weber State is 7-1 ATS vs. teams with a losing record in the second half of this season.
Weber State is 10-1 ATS vs. poor pressure defensive teams this season (forcing 14 or fewer turnovers).
Weber State is 10-4 ATS on the road this season.
Weber State is 12-3 ATS vs. Conference opponents this season.
Weber State is 8-1 ATS revenging a same season loss over the past three seasons.

Definately something to think about.
